What we actually find in Newark
Market Place frontages and Balderton estates
The Market Place is ringed by Georgian, Victorian and medieval buildings, all within the Newark Conservation Area, and that is a live constraint rather than a technicality: external plant on those elevations is heavily scrutinised, and flats above shops usually have nowhere sensible for a condenser except a rear yard or a flat roof. Around the centre, extensive Victorian terracing gives the usual solid-wall picture — pipe runs on the outside, limited yard space, condensate finding its way to a gully. Balderton and the modern estates to the south are the opposite: cavity-built, tighter, with proper space around the unit and easier access. We service both, but they are not the same job and we do not pretend otherwise.
Markets, antiques and distribution sheds
Newark trades hard. General markets run on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, antiques markets on Monday and Thursday, and the town is one of the best-known antiques centres in the country, with the international fair held at the Showground. That is not a detail to skate over when siting ground-level plant. Condensers on low ground want raising on a stand with clearance beneath, electrics kept well above any likely water line, and drainage checked rather than assumed. Otherwise the climate is gentle lowland Trent valley: warm summers, no altitude, no salt.

Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.

What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
