What we actually find in Wath-upon-Dearne
Colliery terraces and reclamation-land estates
Two kinds of house dominate, and they need different handling. The older core is late-Victorian and Edwardian colliery-era brick terrace, solid-walled, with small rear yards and narrow rear access — outdoor units end up tight against a boundary, and getting a ladder and equipment to them is often the fiddliest part of the visit. Alongside those sit interwar and post-war council semis, generally easier, with proper side access and room for a condenser to breathe. Manvers business parks, not the high street
The economic centre of gravity here is Manvers rather than the old high street. Century Business Park, Waterfront Business Park, Brookfield Park and Adwick Park between them hold offices, light industrial units and distribution, with Dearne Valley College's main campus at Manvers as well. That mix leans towards larger open-plan office floors, multi-cassette systems and comms rooms — the kind of installation where a single failed unit does not stop the business but does make a floor unusable, and where planned maintenance is far cheaper than reactive calls. Fifty minutes north into the Dearne

What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
