Air conditioning servicing in Grantham
Two things define Grantham's building stock: Ancaster limestone in the old centre and large modern estates on the edges. Servicing air conditioning here swings between those extremes in a single day. ArcticNord maintains, repairs and F-Gas checks systems across Grantham, from listed stone near St Wulfram's to the new-build streets out toward the A1.

Approved installer & service partner for

Genuine manufacturer parts · Warranty-safe servicing · Trained to manufacturer specification
A thorough service, not a quick once-over
Every ArcticNord maintenance visit follows a full manufacturer-aligned checklist to keep your system efficient, safe and reliable.
Full system inspection
Indoor and outdoor units checked for wear, corrosion, leaks and damage, with a clear written report on system health.
Deep clean & filters
Filters cleaned or replaced and coils, fans and grilles cleaned to restore airflow, efficiency and hygienic air quality.
Refrigerant leak check
An electronic leak detector is passed over the joints, valves and coils to find refrigerant escaping long before you would notice it. Charge is confirmed by temperature split across the coils — we do not connect gauges to a sealed system as a matter of routine.
Electrical & controls test
Connections, contactors and controls tested for safe operation; thermostat and remote settings checked and calibrated.
Drainage & leak prevention
Condensate drains cleared and tested to prevent water leaks, damp and mould — a common cause of breakdowns.
Service report & advice
You receive a documented report with any recommendations, so you always know the condition of your system.
What we actually find in Grantham
Limestone heritage against new-build estates
The historic core around St Wulfram's is Ancaster limestone with stone mullions, stone lintels and Collyweston slate roofs, much of it listed or within the conservation area. Drilling limestone is not the same as drilling brick, and heritage stock rarely tolerates visible pipework on a principal elevation, so servicing existing systems there usually means working with a condenser tucked into a rear courtyard down a route we can't shorten. Around it sit Victorian and Edwardian brick terraces and the usual interwar and post-war semis. Then there's the newer half of the town: Poplar Farm and the allocated land at Rectory Farm have added a great deal of cavity-wall, well-sealed estate housing. Those homes are quick to service but tightly built, so condensate and airflow problems show themselves faster.
Food processing, the A1 and the market
Grantham's trade sits on the High Street and the market at Westgate and the Market Place, with the usual mix of chains and independents. Behind that, employment leans on food processing and the hospital, with Moy Park and Aviagen Turkeys both operating locally, and on logistics — Spittlegate Level occupies the old Hornsby ironworks land and Grantham Distribution Park fronts the A1. Food premises are the demanding end of servicing. Hygiene requirements dictate what can be cleaned and when, wash-down areas are hard on electrics, and any cooling that touches product handling is not something you leave to run until it fails. Shops and salons in the centre are more forgiving, though salons load filters with product spray faster than most owners expect.
Limestone edge, A1 access, exposed ground
We come across on the A46 and A1, or the A6097 if the A1 is behaving badly, and it's around three quarters of an hour. Grantham sits where the Witham rises, on the western edge of the Lincolnshire limestone belt, with the Vale of Belvoir on one side and ground climbing eastward toward the Lincoln Edge. It's gently rolling rather than sheltered, and the free-draining limestone subsoil means less standing damp than the Trent valley towns but more airborne dust off surrounding farmland in a dry spell. Harvest dust in particular loads condenser coils quickly, so late-summer coil checks are worth building into the schedule.

Good to know before you book a re-gas
Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.
Lost charge on a fairly new system (2–5 yrs)? It's often an installation defect that may be covered under the installer's workmanship warranty — we'll help you check first.
Prices can rise during summer heatwaves and for hard-to-reach outdoor units (upper floors, brackets).
All "+ VAT" prices have VAT added at 20%. Commercial systems, VRV/VRF, refrigeration and chillers are quoted individually — call us for a tailored price.

A neglected system costs more than a serviced one
Clean filters and correct refrigerant levels keep efficiency high — a dirty, undercharged system works harder and costs more to run.
Most failures are predictable. Regular checks catch small faults before they become expensive, mid-heatwave emergencies.
Servicing removes the dust, bacteria and mould that build up in filters and drains, protecting indoor air quality.
Many manufacturer warranties require annual servicing. Commercial systems also carry F-Gas legal obligations we handle for you.
Serving Grantham & the surrounding area
As well as Grantham itself, our F-Gas registered engineers regularly cover the surrounding towns and suburbs for servicing, maintenance, repairs and installation. Looking to have a new system fitted rather than serviced? See our installation page for Grantham.

Air conditioning servicing FAQs
Our house is on one of the new estates north-west of town — does a nearly new system really need annual servicing? +
Yes, and usually the manufacturer's warranty depends on it. New systems rarely fail from wear; they fail from blocked filters, a condensate drain routed with too little fall, or a fan drawing debris off a plot where the landscaping isn't established. Tightly sealed modern houses also show airflow problems more clearly, because there's less incidental ventilation to mask them. A yearly visit covers filter and coil cleaning, drain flushing, electrical checks, an electronic leak detector run over the joints and a temperature split reading to confirm the system is performing as it should. It's a short job on a new install — that's rather the point.
Do you cover Grantham? +
Yes — ArcticNord services air conditioning throughout Grantham, Lincolnshire and nearby areas including Lincoln, Boston, Sleaford, Spalding and Skegness. Call us and we'll book a visit that suits you.
How often should air conditioning be serviced? +
For most homes and offices, once a year is recommended to maintain efficiency, hygiene and reliability. Systems used heavily, or in dusty or commercial environments, may benefit from twice-yearly attention — which is what our AC Complete plan provides: a full service before summer and a shorter performance check before winter.
What does the £119 service include? +
The £119 + VAT (£142.80 including VAT) single-split visit covers a full inspection of the indoor and outdoor units, filter cleaning or replacement, coil and grille cleaning, an electronic refrigerant leak check, a temperature-split performance check, electrical and control testing, condensate drain clearing, and a written service report with any recommendations.
How is a multi-split system priced? +
A multi-split service is £164 + VAT (£196.80 including VAT), which covers up to 2 indoor units. Each additional indoor unit is £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT). We'll confirm the exact total based on how many indoor units your system has before any work begins.
What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
Do you service all makes and models? +
Yes. We are approved service & installation partners for Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hisense, Midea and Bosch, and our F-Gas registered engineers also service all other major brands — Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and more — whether or not we installed the system originally.
Can I pay monthly instead of all at once? +
Yes. Our care plans spread the cost from £10.99 + VAT (£13.19 including VAT) a month and include priority booking and discounted repairs, so you never face a single large bill — or forget to book your service.
Do you cover commercial and refrigeration systems? +
Absolutely. ArcticNord maintains commercial air conditioning, VRV/VRF systems, chillers and refrigeration, including F-Gas leak testing and logbook records to keep you legally compliant. Contact us for a tailored maintenance contract.
