Air conditioning servicing in Sleaford
St Denys' carries one of the oldest stone spires in England; the Bass Maltings on Mareham Lane, eight malt houses and largely derelict, are the other thing everyone recognises. Between them sits a town that has grown hard since 2000, and ArcticNord services and maintains air conditioning across all of it.

Approved installer & service partner for

Genuine manufacturer parts · Warranty-safe servicing · Trained to manufacturer specification
A thorough service, not a quick once-over
Every ArcticNord maintenance visit follows a full manufacturer-aligned checklist to keep your system efficient, safe and reliable.
Full system inspection
Indoor and outdoor units checked for wear, corrosion, leaks and damage, with a clear written report on system health.
Deep clean & filters
Filters cleaned or replaced and coils, fans and grilles cleaned to restore airflow, efficiency and hygienic air quality.
Refrigerant leak check
An electronic leak detector is passed over the joints, valves and coils to find refrigerant escaping long before you would notice it. Charge is confirmed by temperature split across the coils — we do not connect gauges to a sealed system as a matter of routine.
Electrical & controls test
Connections, contactors and controls tested for safe operation; thermostat and remote settings checked and calibrated.
Drainage & leak prevention
Condensate drains cleared and tested to prevent water leaks, damp and mould — a common cause of breakdowns.
Service report & advice
You receive a documented report with any recommendations, so you always know the condition of your system.
What we actually find in Sleaford
Georgian core, modern estates outside it
Sleaford splits neatly in two for our purposes. Around the market place and the older streets the stock is Georgian and Victorian brick with limestone in places, plenty of it listed, solid-walled, and awkward for anything involving a core drill or a visible external unit — on those we look for discreet elevations, existing openings and routes that do not scar stonework. Then there is everything built since 2000 at Quarrington and Holdingham: cavity walls, standard eaves, condensers on side elevations at ground level, and a lot of systems now old enough to want proper attention. On the newer estates the usual findings are blocked condensate, filthy filters and coils choked with what blows off the surrounding farmland — none of it dramatic, all of it worth catching early.
Offices, agriculture and the airfields
The employment picture here is unusual for a Lincolnshire market town. North Kesteven District Council is headquartered in Sleaford, and public administration, education and health account for a large share of local jobs — which means offices, meeting rooms and server cupboards rather than shop floors. Agriculture and agri-services remain significant, and the RAF stations at Cranwell, Digby and Waddington are major employers across the wider area, so there is a steady supply of professional and support businesses in the town. Add the shops and cafés round the market place and the units on Sleaford Moor Enterprise Park. Office work has its own rhythm: comms rooms need cooling that does not stop, and meeting-room systems tend to be neglected until someone complains in July.
An hour out along the A17
Sleaford is about an hour from us, out through Newark and along the A17 — a straightforward run, and close enough that the town sits comfortably inside our regular servicing round. It lies flat to gently undulating on the western edge of the Fen, where the River Slea runs past Cogglesford Watermill. This is one of the driest, lowest-rainfall corners of England, with high summer daytime temperatures to match, so cooling demand is real rather than occasional. The flip side is dust: dry arable land either side of the town means airborne grit and pollen, and coils and filters load up faster than the manufacturer's intervals assume.

Good to know before you book a re-gas
Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.
Lost charge on a fairly new system (2–5 yrs)? It's often an installation defect that may be covered under the installer's workmanship warranty — we'll help you check first.
Prices can rise during summer heatwaves and for hard-to-reach outdoor units (upper floors, brackets).
All "+ VAT" prices have VAT added at 20%. Commercial systems, VRV/VRF, refrigeration and chillers are quoted individually — call us for a tailored price.

A neglected system costs more than a serviced one
Clean filters and correct refrigerant levels keep efficiency high — a dirty, undercharged system works harder and costs more to run.
Most failures are predictable. Regular checks catch small faults before they become expensive, mid-heatwave emergencies.
Servicing removes the dust, bacteria and mould that build up in filters and drains, protecting indoor air quality.
Many manufacturer warranties require annual servicing. Commercial systems also carry F-Gas legal obligations we handle for you.

Air conditioning servicing FAQs
We're on one of the newer estates at Quarrington — how often should the system be serviced? +
Annual is the sensible baseline for a domestic split, and on the Quarrington and Holdingham estates there is a specific reason to stick to it. The land around Sleaford is dry arable, and in a dry summer the condensers on those exposed side elevations pick up a lot of dust and chaff. A choked coil quietly costs you capacity long before anything fails. A service covers filters, coil cleaning, condensate, electrical checks and an electronic leak test, with performance confirmed by temperature split rather than by connecting gauges.
Do you cover Sleaford? +
Yes — ArcticNord services air conditioning throughout Sleaford, Lincolnshire and nearby areas including Lincoln, Grantham, Boston, Spalding and Skegness. Call us and we'll book a visit that suits you.
How often should air conditioning be serviced? +
For most homes and offices, once a year is recommended to maintain efficiency, hygiene and reliability. Systems used heavily, or in dusty or commercial environments, may benefit from twice-yearly attention — which is what our AC Complete plan provides: a full service before summer and a shorter performance check before winter.
What does the £119 service include? +
The £119 + VAT (£142.80 including VAT) single-split visit covers a full inspection of the indoor and outdoor units, filter cleaning or replacement, coil and grille cleaning, an electronic refrigerant leak check, a temperature-split performance check, electrical and control testing, condensate drain clearing, and a written service report with any recommendations.
How is a multi-split system priced? +
A multi-split service is £164 + VAT (£196.80 including VAT), which covers up to 2 indoor units. Each additional indoor unit is £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT). We'll confirm the exact total based on how many indoor units your system has before any work begins.
What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
Do you service all makes and models? +
Yes. We are approved service & installation partners for Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hisense, Midea and Bosch, and our F-Gas registered engineers also service all other major brands — Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and more — whether or not we installed the system originally.
Can I pay monthly instead of all at once? +
Yes. Our care plans spread the cost from £10.99 + VAT (£13.19 including VAT) a month and include priority booking and discounted repairs, so you never face a single large bill — or forget to book your service.
Do you cover commercial and refrigeration systems? +
Absolutely. ArcticNord maintains commercial air conditioning, VRV/VRF systems, chillers and refrigeration, including F-Gas leak testing and logbook records to keep you legally compliant. Contact us for a tailored maintenance contract.
