What we actually find in Leeds
Back-to-backs, mills and managed blocks
A back-to-back has no rear elevation. It is single-aspect, solid-walled and shares three sides with its neighbours, which leaves the front wall onto the street or a small yard as the only place an outdoor unit can physically go — and that is exactly where a landlord or the council is least likely to want it. Harehills carries the heaviest concentration of them. Where systems already exist, they are often mounted on brackets at first-floor level with long, exposed pipe runs, and the insulation is usually the first thing to fail. City-centre flats and mill conversions bring a different problem: the unit belongs to you, the wall it hangs on belongs to the block, and access is through a managing agent. We ask about that before we book rather than after.

Retail and hospitality in Leeds spans everything from Briggate's national chains to the 200-odd independent traders inside Kirkgate Market — the Grade I listed building where Marks and Spencer began as a penny bazaar — and the small units under the dome of the 1864 Corn Exchange. Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.
Lost charge on a fairly new system (2–5 yrs)? It's often an installation defect that may be covered under the installer's workmanship warranty — we'll help you check first.

I live in a back-to-back in Leeds with no rear wall. Is servicing different? +
The service itself is the same, but the siting makes it harder. With no rear elevation, the outdoor unit is usually on the front wall, on a bracket above head height, or in a shared yard — all of which mean working from a ladder or a platform in a public street. We will need somewhere to stand safely and, on some streets, a parking arrangement. Long pipe runs are common in that stock, so we pay particular attention to insulation condition and drainage. If the unit cannot be reached safely on the day, we will tell you what is needed rather than force it.

How is a multi-split system priced? +
A multi-split service is £164 + VAT (£196.80 including VAT), which covers up to 2 indoor units. Each additional indoor unit is £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT). We'll confirm the exact total based on how many indoor units your system has before any work begins.
What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
Do you service all makes and models? +
Yes. We are approved service & installation partners for Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hisense, Midea and Bosch, and our F-Gas registered engineers also service all other major brands — Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and more — whether or not we installed the system originally.
