What we actually find in Lincolnshire
Limestone, pantiles, fen cottages and chalets
Building materials change as you cross the county. The Kesteven belt through Stamford and Grantham is limestone, handsome and often listed, with conservation areas that take a firm view on anything fixed to a street elevation. North and east through the Wolds and Lindsey it is red brick and pantile, villages of a few dozen houses with plenty of open exposure. Out in the Fens you get isolated farmhouses and drainage-side cottages, plus dense terraces in Boston and Spalding. The coast from Skegness to Mablethorpe is the odd one — chalets, bungalows, statics and holiday-park stock, lightly built, seasonally occupied, and hard on external equipment. Very little of Lincolnshire's housing looks like the rest of it, so we survey each property rather than assuming a county-wide pattern.
Cold stores, caravan parks, market squares
Agri-food is the dominant industry, and that shapes the commercial work. Packhouses, chilled distribution and cold storage are a recognisable local building type here in a way they are not further west, and comfort cooling in the adjoining offices and control areas sits alongside process refrigeration handled by others. The coast runs on hospitality — holiday parks, amusement arcades, pubs, cafés and guest houses whose whole trading year is compressed into a few months, so a July failure costs far more than the repair. Market squares in Louth, Sleaford, Spalding, Stamford and Gainsborough carry the usual independent shops, salons and small offices, often in listed frontages. Lincoln adds a university, hotels and city-centre retail. The common thread is that a lot of Lincolnshire businesses cannot simply close for a day while a system is looked at.
Salt air, flat roads, long drives
By road this is the most demanding of the counties we cover. There is no motorway east of the A1, and crossing the county means single-carriageway A-roads through the middle of market towns, so an engineer leaving Bilsthorpe for Louth or Skegness is looking at well over an hour. The land is flat and low — the Wolds top out at 168 metres and much of the Fens sits below sea level, drained by pumping. Inland Kesteven and the Trent valley are drier and warmer in summer.

Good to know before you book a re-gas
Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.
Lost charge on a fairly new system (2–5 yrs)? It's often an installation defect that may be covered under the installer's workmanship warranty — we'll help you check first.
Prices can rise during summer heatwaves and for hard-to-reach outdoor units (upper floors, brackets).

Most failures are predictable. Regular checks catch small faults before they become expensive, mid-heatwave emergencies.

Yes, and it is the one thing coastal owners underestimate. Salt-laden air corrodes aluminium fins, steel casings and fixings, and a unit at Skegness or Mablethorpe will age faster than the same model at Sleaford. On coastal services we look hard at fin condition, casing corrosion, mounting brackets and drainage, and we wash down where it is warranted. What does the £119 service include? +
The £119 + VAT (£142.80 including VAT) single-split visit covers a full inspection of the indoor and outdoor units, filter cleaning or replacement, coil and grille cleaning, an electronic refrigerant leak check, a temperature-split performance check, electrical and control testing, condensate drain clearing, and a written service report with any recommendations.
How is a multi-split system priced? +
A multi-split service is £164 + VAT (£196.80 including VAT), which covers up to 2 indoor units. Each additional indoor unit is £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT). We'll confirm the exact total based on how many indoor units your system has before any work begins.
What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
Do you service all makes and models? +
Yes. We are approved service & installation partners for Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hisense, Midea and Bosch, and our F-Gas registered engineers also service all other major brands — Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and more — whether or not we installed the system originally.
Can I pay monthly instead of all at once? +
Yes. Our care plans spread the cost from £10.99 + VAT (£13.19 including VAT) a month and include priority booking and discounted repairs, so you never face a single large bill — or forget to book your service.
