Air conditioning servicing in West Yorkshire
West Yorkshire is where our patch runs out, and we would rather say so up front. Leeds and Wakefield sit low and open onto the Vale of York; Calderdale and the Colne Valley climb into Pennine moorland with towns wedged into steep valleys. Two very different servicing propositions inside five boroughs.

Approved installer & service partner for

Genuine manufacturer parts · Warranty-safe servicing · Trained to manufacturer specification
A thorough service, not a quick once-over
Every ArcticNord maintenance visit follows a full manufacturer-aligned checklist to keep your system efficient, safe and reliable.
Full system inspection
Indoor and outdoor units checked for wear, corrosion, leaks and damage, with a clear written report on system health.
Deep clean & filters
Filters cleaned or replaced and coils, fans and grilles cleaned to restore airflow, efficiency and hygienic air quality.
Refrigerant leak check
An electronic leak detector is passed over the joints, valves and coils to find refrigerant escaping long before you would notice it. Charge is confirmed by temperature split across the coils — we do not connect gauges to a sealed system as a matter of routine.
Electrical & controls test
Connections, contactors and controls tested for safe operation; thermostat and remote settings checked and calibrated.
Drainage & leak prevention
Condensate drains cleared and tested to prevent water leaks, damp and mould — a common cause of breakdowns.
Service report & advice
You receive a documented report with any recommendations, so you always know the condition of your system.
What we actually find in West Yorkshire
Weavers' cottages, back-to-backs and mill flats
Probably the widest housing variation of any county we cover. Through Calderdale and the Colne Valley you get millstone-grit terraces and weavers' cottages, some still with their top-floor weaving windows — thick sandstone walls, stone slate roofs, stepped up hillsides with back-to-earth walls at the rear, which limits where a condenser can sensibly go and how pipework is routed. Leeds and Bradford have an unusual amount of surviving back-to-back housing, a stock type largely confined to this region and awkward by definition, since there is no rear elevation to use. Saltaire near Bradford is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the constraints that implies. Add Leeds's Victorian suburbs, city-centre mill conversions and apartments, student HMOs, ex-coalfield brick terraces around Wakefield and the Five Towns, and large period stone houses at Ilkley and Otley.
Mill towns, city offices, valley cafés
Commercially the east and west halves behave differently. Leeds is a commercial city — offices, professional firms, city-centre retail, hotels and a dense restaurant and bar trade, much of it in converted mill and warehouse buildings where plant access is shared and rooftop routes matter. Bradford and the western textile towns are post-industrial: mill buildings in second and third use as workspace, studios, gyms and small manufacturing. The upper Calder and Colne valleys have turned largely to commuting and tourism, so Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Marsden and Slaithwaite carry independent cafés, shops, pubs and small offices in tight period buildings on narrow streets. Wakefield and the Five Towns run ordinary trade plus industrial and distribution estates. Cooling a listed mill conversion is not the same job as a modern Leeds office floor.
The far edge of our range
This is the furthest we go, and honesty serves you better than optimism. Leeds and Wakefield are a reasonable run down the A1 and across, but the upper Calder Valley and the Wharfedale fringe are the practical limit of our radius. The climate splits with the geography. Western Calderdale and the upper Colne are among the wettest places in England, with high wind exposure, moorland above 400 metres and long heating seasons; valley bottoms are sheltered but sunless, damp and flood-prone, which shows up as condensate and corrosion problems. Leeds and Wakefield, down at twenty or thirty metres, are markedly drier and milder.

Your visit includes:
- Full electronic leak detection
- Existing gas recovered & system re-gassed to spec
- Strength (pressure) test & leak test carried out
- Leak repaired or parts quoted before any work
- F-Gas compliant handling & paperwork
Good to know before you book a re-gas
Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.
Lost charge on a fairly new system (2–5 yrs)? It's often an installation defect that may be covered under the installer's workmanship warranty — we'll help you check first.
Prices can rise during summer heatwaves and for hard-to-reach outdoor units (upper floors, brackets).
All "+ VAT" prices have VAT added at 20%. Commercial systems, VRV/VRF, refrigeration and chillers are quoted individually — call us for a tailored price.

A neglected system costs more than a serviced one
Clean filters and correct refrigerant levels keep efficiency high — a dirty, undercharged system works harder and costs more to run.
Most failures are predictable. Regular checks catch small faults before they become expensive, mid-heatwave emergencies.
Servicing removes the dust, bacteria and mould that build up in filters and drains, protecting indoor air quality.
Many manufacturer warranties require annual servicing. Commercial systems also carry F-Gas legal obligations we handle for you.

Air conditioning servicing FAQs
Are you honestly going to travel out to Hebden Bridge or Ilkley for a service? +
For planned work, yes. For a same-day breakdown, probably not, and we would rather tell you that now. The upper Calder Valley and the Wharfedale fringe are the outer edge of our range, so we cover them with scheduled visits arranged in advance, usually grouped with other West Yorkshire work on the same day. Leeds, Wakefield and Kirklees are easier. If you need someone who can be with you within the hour in Todmorden, we are not that firm, and we will say so.
Do you cover West Yorkshire? +
Yes — ArcticNord services air conditioning throughout West Yorkshire, including Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax and Dewsbury. Call us and we'll book a visit that suits you.
How often should air conditioning be serviced? +
For most homes and offices, once a year is recommended to maintain efficiency, hygiene and reliability. Systems used heavily, or in dusty or commercial environments, may benefit from twice-yearly attention — which is what our AC Complete plan provides: a full service before summer and a shorter performance check before winter.
What does the £119 service include? +
The £119 + VAT (£142.80 including VAT) single-split visit covers a full inspection of the indoor and outdoor units, filter cleaning or replacement, coil and grille cleaning, an electronic refrigerant leak check, a temperature-split performance check, electrical and control testing, condensate drain clearing, and a written service report with any recommendations.
How is a multi-split system priced? +
A multi-split service is £164 + VAT (£196.80 including VAT), which covers up to 2 indoor units. Each additional indoor unit is £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT). We'll confirm the exact total based on how many indoor units your system has before any work begins.
What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
Do you service all makes and models? +
Yes. We are approved service & installation partners for Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hisense, Midea and Bosch, and our F-Gas registered engineers also service all other major brands — Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and more — whether or not we installed the system originally.
Can I pay monthly instead of all at once? +
Yes. Our care plans spread the cost from £10.99 + VAT (£13.19 including VAT) a month and include priority booking and discounted repairs, so you never face a single large bill — or forget to book your service.
Do you cover commercial and refrigeration systems? +
Absolutely. ArcticNord maintains commercial air conditioning, VRV/VRF systems, chillers and refrigeration, including F-Gas leak testing and logbook records to keep you legally compliant. Contact us for a tailored maintenance contract.
