An electronic leak detector is passed over the joints, valves and coils to find refrigerant escaping long before you would notice it. Charge is confirmed by temperature split across the coils — we do not connect gauges to a sealed system as a matter of routine.

Connections, contactors and controls tested for safe operation; thermostat and remote settings checked and calibrated.
Drainage & leak prevention
Condensate drains cleared and tested to prevent water leaks, damp and mould — a common cause of breakdowns.

What we actually find in Nottinghamshire
Pit terraces, estate cottages, Trent-side brick
Housing here runs from colliery terrace to country house within a few miles. Ashfield, Mansfield and north Bassetlaw are model mining villages and rows of solid-wall brick terraces, tight frontages and shared rear access, where an outdoor unit's position is often a conversation with the neighbour as much as a technical decision. Nottingham adds extensive Victorian terracing, large post-war estates and a substantial student HMO market around Lenton and Dunkirk, with the turnover and deferred maintenance that comes with it. Through Sherwood and the Dukeries there are estate cottages and large country houses on the Welbeck, Clumber and Thoresby estates. Newark and the Trent villages are Georgian and red brick. Rushcliffe and the Newark fringe hold the county's largest concentration of new-build, which is generally the easiest servicing of the lot.
Market towns, warehouses and city offices
Commercially the county is broad but not exotic. The old coalfield towns — Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Hucknall, Mansfield, Worksop — run on high-street retail, takeaways, salons, care homes, garages and industrial units on estates built where the pits were. Newark and Retford have market-town trade in period buildings, plus food and engineering on the edges. Half an hour to almost anywhere
Bilsthorpe sits close to the centre of the county, which is the practical advantage. Ground is modest — the highest point is around 205 metres on the western edge, and the Trent valley floor is only a few metres above sea level. That western coalfield ridge is the most exposed and the coldest; the Trent valley is sheltered, frost-prone on winter nights but the warmest part of the county in July. Good to know before you book a re-gas
Refrigerant work must be done by an F-Gas certified engineer — it's illegal to buy refrigerant or attempt this yourself.
R22 systems (pre-2010) can't legally be recharged — virgin R22 is banned. We'll advise on reclaimed-gas repair, conversion, or replacement.
Lost charge on a fairly new system (2–5 yrs)? It's often an installation defect that may be covered under the installer's workmanship warranty — we'll help you check first.
Prices can rise during summer heatwaves and for hard-to-reach outdoor units (upper floors, brackets).

Most failures are predictable. Regular checks catch small faults before they become expensive, mid-heatwave emergencies.

How is a multi-split system priced? +
A multi-split service is £164 + VAT (£196.80 including VAT), which covers up to 2 indoor units. Each additional indoor unit is £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT). We'll confirm the exact total based on how many indoor units your system has before any work begins.
What's the difference between a single-split and multi-split system? +
A single-split has one indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit. A multi-split connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, so it cools multiple rooms. Multi-splits take longer to service because every indoor unit is checked and cleaned — which is why they're priced a little higher.
Do you service all makes and models? +
Yes. We are approved service & installation partners for Daikin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung, Hisense, Midea and Bosch, and our F-Gas registered engineers also service all other major brands — Panasonic, LG, Toshiba and more — whether or not we installed the system originally.
Can I pay monthly instead of all at once? +
Yes. Our care plans spread the cost from £10.99 + VAT (£13.19 including VAT) a month and include priority booking and discounted repairs, so you never face a single large bill — or forget to book your service.
